Alocasia Cuprea ‘Red Secret’ 4”

An Alocasia cuprea plant - native to Borneo - is known for the unusual coppery sheen of its large, up to 24-inch long leaves. Juvenile leaves appear particularly coppery, while the back of the leaf is a dark purple, and there is also a greener variety. Rare in cultivation until the 1850s when it was imported to Europe by Thomas Lobb for Veitch Nurseries, it has since gained worldwide fame.
